In Dehradun, about 1,600 paramedical workers plan to launch an agitation on Thursday to support their demands to either be reinstated or be given alternative postings.

They were employed in the initial wave of Covid-19 in March 2020 for a six-month term, and since then, their contracts have been extended twice. Frontline health workers union president in Uttarakhand, Sanjay Koranga, said it was unfair. These were the ones who stood with suffering humanity as the globe battled its worst pandemic. The state administration is not considering the fact that they had put their lives in danger to save those of others. They were hoping that something would happen during the assembly session, but as of now, nothing has been reported. As a result, they will start protesting on Thursday. They are powerless to stop it from affecting health care throughout the state.

The lack of paramedical workers could cause hindrances in the proper functioning of the hospitals where they worked to provide seam-free medical facilities.
